2 For one thing chiefly do I plead, Dear Lord, lead me aright: [bleed,
Though strength should f ail,and heart should Lead me through peace to light.
3 I do not ask to understand My cross, my way to see; |
Let me, in darkness, feel Thy hand, And simply follow Thee.
4 Joy is like day, but peace divine
May rule the quiet night: Lead me, till perfect day shall shine,
O Lord, through peace to light.

2 When on my aching, burdened heart My sins lie heavily, Thy pardon grant, Thy peace impart: In love, remember me.
1 3 When trials sore obstruct my way, And ills I cannot flee, O let my strength be as my day I For good, remember me. |
4 If worn with pain, disease, and grief,
This feeble frame should be, Grant patience, rest, and kind relief: Hear and remember me.
5 And O when in the hour of death
I own Thy just decree, Be this the prayer of my last breath, Dear Lord, remember me.!
